Bulls – A fantastic trade, with all classes sharper on the week, in particular the heavyweights. Top price was 236ppk for a Limousin consigned by J A Matten & Sons, Avenue Grange, he realised £1656. J A Matten & Sons also had forward the lead grossing bull, a British Blue which realised £1817, both were purchased by Worsley Wholesale Butchers.

Clean Cattle – As with the bulls all clean cattle dearer on the week, many more could have been sold to vendors advantage. Top price was 272ppk for a Limousin Heifer consigned by Ponteland Farmer M F Hall, Woodhill Farm, she realised £1332 and was purchased by Worsley Wholesale Meats. The lead grossing clean beast was a Limousin Steer consigned by AS & SM Kemp, Whitwell Farm, he realised £1724 and was purchased by John Penny & Sons, Rawdon.

Top price was 223ppk for a pen of Texel Lambs consigned by W Swinbank & Sons, Greystones, they realised £98 and were purchased by R Skelton, Maryport. The lead grossing lambs were also a pen of Texels consigned by Hexham Farmer B A Swallow, Dukesfield Hall, they realised £101 and were purchased by J A Jewitt Ltd, Spennymoor
