St. John’s Chapel Agricultural Show

The show this year takes place on Saturday, 25 August.  Entertainment includes: a wildlife display, Cyril the Squirrel and his Racing Terriers, a chainsaw carver, Mister Twister’s Fun Show, the Reiver Rebels Flyball Team, Stanhope Silver Band, parade of hounds courtesy of the Weardale and Tees Valley Beagles, the North Pennine Hunt and the Braes of Derwent.  Richard Salkeld, qualified chef, will demonstrate his skills in the kitchen at the Farmers’ Market marquee.  There will also be crafts, photography, dog competitions, annual fell run and a bale-stacking competition, as well as a display of motorbikes.  £6 adults and £2 children with free parking.  A car boot sale will be held on Bank Holiday Monday from 9am-12 noon.
