Wool and knitters need for ‘fish and chip’ babies in Africa

Teacher, Nancy Wall from Eastgate, is apealing for donations of wool and help from knitters.  Nancy is very active outside school and in summer took some of her students to work voluntarily in Romania.  Next year she intends to take a group to Botswana in Zambia.  The students have all learned to knit and are busy creating baby clothes for what are known as ‘fish and chip’ babies because they are wrapped in newspaper when they are born because of the lack of clothing.  If you can help knit baby clothes, get in touch with Nancy via our Editor, Anita Atkinson, tel. 01388 766869.
