WI Picnic in the Park moves to Witton Castle

The County Federation of Women’s Institutes have announced that the event will be held at Witton Castle this year and feature the Bearpark and Esh Band.  It will be held on 23 July at 7.30pm.

Scouts prepare for trip of a lifetime

Four Explorer Scouts from Weardale will be attending the 22nd Scout World Jamboree in Sweden later this month and have each raised £1,800 required for the trip – and to help another four Scouts from poorer countries also attend.

Two gold, three silver and three bronze was the medal tally for the Weardale and Bishop Auckland Kim Chung Do team representing the North East recently.
