Photos needed for Remember when?
THE Weardale Gazette’s ever- popular special edition of Remember when?, produced annually, is under way again and we are asking our readers to send in their photographs We would like photographs mainly from the 1960s-1990s era but older photographs will be also be considered. Photographs can be of people, events, social gatherings, views, whatever you think will be of interest to readers.
They can be sent electronically, or by hard copy. Hard copies will be scanned and returned to their owners.
If enough photographs are received then we can get the issue out for Christmas – it will make a nice Christmas present, so rake through your albums and send them to Sheila Hogarth, or email her: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our nostalgia edition called ‘Remember when?’ will be on sale on Wednesday, 29 June in most of the shops selling the Weardale Gazette. It costs £1. P&P is 84p.
It always sells out so make sure you buy your copy quickly.

The Weardale Gazette is asking readers to send in photographs for the next edition of Remember when? our nostalgia special edition which we hope to have on sale at Easter, providing we receive enough material. The photographs can be in black and white or colour which show events that have happened in the Dale, or of people or places etc. We would like photographs from the 1960s – 2000. We will also consider those before 1960.
We can accept photographs digitally or hard copy by post or you can leave them at the office in the Market Place at Stanhope. All hard copies will be returned to their owners. Remember when? is very popular with readers and the next edition will be our 10th edition. It is always a sell-out so have a look through your albums etc.
Once again, the Weardale Gazette is inviting all you photographers to send in your views of Weardale for our 2017 calendar.
Entries are limited to two entries per person of any view of the Dale (between Killhope and Wolsingham) in colour. We accept hard copies or digital copies. Photographs entered by you must not have been exhibited at public events or have appeared on social media. All photographs chosen to appear in the calendar will be credited with your name and where you live. The deadline date for entries is Monday, 5th September 2016. The Weardale Gazette will be closed on 24th December and will re-open on Monday 4th January.
There will be a Weardale Gazette edition out on 30th December. The first edition in the New Year will be on Wednesday, 13th January.
